There is a reason Lil’ Kim is the queen bee, something that a lot of people don’t understand. Many people try to reduce her to just the beef with Nicki Minaj. Those people do not understand that without Lil’ Kim, there is no Nicki Minaj… or Eve, or Cardi B, or any of the “Dolls.”
Lil’ Kim picked up the reigns from the likes of MC Lyte and set records for female rappers. Literally picking up where MC Lyte left off, Lil’ Kim set records for female rap, many of which Eve began to break, before she pursued acting. That left it open for Nicki Minaj, later Cardi B, to do.
Recently, Lil’ Kim stopped by Real 92.3, in LA, where she would sit down with Bootleg Kev. She was there to talk about her new album, but the conversation turned to women in hip hop. When he began the talk about Nicki Minaj, Lil’ Kim shut it down, wishing her well, and being open to ending the beef, before speaking on Cardi B, and much more.
