Lil Durk’s “7220” expected to become number one album in US, and Durk’s first solo number one

Lil Durk’s “7220” album heading for number one spot on Billboard 200

On Friday, Lil Durk released his seventh studio album, “7220.” This project was led by hit singles such as “Pissed Me Off,” “Ahhh Ha,” and “Broadway Girls,” ft. Morgan Wallen. 17 tracks were available, with additional appearances from Summer Walker, Gunna, and Future. The album was originally planned for a February 22 release date, in an attempt to compete with Kanye West’s “Donda 2,” but those plans went on to be changed.

Many fans believed that 7220 could be Durk’s first number one solo album, and it appears to be on its way in doing so. According to Chart Data, 7220 is aiming for the number one spot on the Billboard 200 spot, with between 120,000-130,000 units sold. 7220 was released on a day full of album releases, which also included Benny The Butcher’s “Tana Talk 4” and Sheensea’s “Alpha.”

Overall, 7220 would be Durk’s second straight number one album. In the summer of 2021, Durk release a joint album with Lil Baby, “The Voice Of The Heroes,” which went on to top the Billboard 200. Durk’s last solo album came in December 2020, when “The Voice” debuted at number two.

In addition to Durk’s 7220 album, the 7220 Tour will also be taking place next month. It will kick off on April 8, in Phoenix, AZ. The tour will run through May 2, as it’ll conclude in Durk’s hometown of Chicago.
