Hospital frontline workers are still dealing with many COVID-19 patients and things do get very overwhelming at times. Chicago rapper Lil Durk gave back in a major way yesterday as he visited Rush Hospital. He brought meals to them from Phlavz Bar & Grille, which is owned by his manager, according to TMZ.
Someone from the hospitality staff then proceeded to hand out the meals inside the hospital. Durk wasn’t done though as later that night, 100 more meals were ready to be picked up. Durk was so grateful for these first responders that he decided to head back to his hometown and give back to show how grateful he was for what they do for others during these crazy times.
“Everyone back home has been in my thoughts, especially those doing something for the community and all the neighborhood heroes,” said Durk to TMZ. “I thought about all the first responders putting their lives on the line to help out and it inspired me, so I took a jet back to Chicago to show my thanks.”
Big salute to Durk and his manager for making a difference in their hometown. Hopefully, this outbreak slows down here soon so some form of normality can come into our lives.
