Lil Baby Thanks Vice President, Kamala Harris, For Meeting With Him, After He Went To White House With George Floyd’s Family

Yesterday marked one year since George Floyd was killed by Derek Chauvin of the Minneapolis PD. People worldwide used their platforms to speak on this and noted that there is much more work to be done in regards to preventing police brutality on unarmed Black Americans. Last month Chauvin ended up being convicted on charges of second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

Yesterday at the White House, Floyd’s family went on to meet with President Joe Biden, as Lil Baby joined them. A photo surfaced of the Atlanta rapper with House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, and now, Vice President Kamala Harris.

Baby just posted a photo with Harris on his Instagram feed, as he thanked her for meeting with him. Baby added that the two were able to have an “open discussion.”

“Big shoutout to @vp for taking the time out her busy day to sit with me an have an open discussion! #wegottastartsomewhere.”

Baby also advocated with Floyd’s family for the George Floyd Justice In Policing Act to be passed. This looks to fight against police misconduct excessive force, and racial bias.

Next week will also be a huge one for Baby musically. On June 4, he will be releasing the collab album, “Voice Of The Heroes,” with Lil Durk. This project was initially supposed to be out this week, but delayed it out of respect to DMX’s “Exodus” album.
