These past two years, Larenz Tate has reclaimed the spotlight, playing a slightly different role. Coming on “Power” for the final seasons, Tate plays Councilman Tate, keeping his last name. Rashad Tate is currently running for governor and working with Ghost (Omari Hardwick).

Larenz Tate is a veteran actor, rising to notoriety, playing O-Dog on the classic Menace II Society. After that, Larenz Tate was typecast in “gangsta” roles. But, Councilman Tate is a clean-cut guy, with a dark edge.

Recently, Larenz Tate has been doing his media rounds, where he has discussed the final “Power” season. These media rounds have taken him to Power 105.1, in New York City. At “The Breakfast Club,” he spoke with DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne Tha God, about the show, his family, lifestyle, and the culture.
