With hip hop stardom comes the chance of fortune and fame. A lot of people looking in prefer the fortune over the fame, but get flattered by the attention. When those who endure downfalls drop off, this is typically due to the fame going to one’s head. That is the worst possible outcome, but there are others.

KRS-One is one of the longest-running rappers ever, as he has been there since the very beginning. Controversial on a good day, KRS-One has gotten himself into all kinds of trouble over his statements. After the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York City and Washington, DC, KRS-One was said to have said hip hop celebrated when this happened.

As is often the case in the hip hop world, KRS-One was taken out of context with his words, but was never given a chance to clear things up. Over the years, Vlad TV has reached out to some of everyone for interviews. When they spoke to KRS-One, he discussed his comments made in his interview with The New Yorker and he clarified them.
