Sensation is a word given out too freely and this is especially the case when it comes to hip hop music. But, the past year and a half has been full of breakout stars. Kid Ink is among the numerous breakout stars that have come from Toronto, Atlanta, Memphis, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Over the past month, the Los Angeles hip hop scene has been a primary focus, due to all that has happened.

Joe Moses, YG, and Casey Veggies have all dropped new projects in 2013. But, the biggest news for the city of Angels came when Kid Ink revealed he had signed with RCA Records. For the longest time, it appeared as if record labels were biased against Los Angeles-area artists. Now, Kid Ink marks the third major signing of a West Coast artist in the past two years.

Kid Ink has talked with various hip hop media outlets about his signing. Independently, Kid Ink released his Up & Away album, which was met with much fanfare. The album was released through his label, Tha Alumni Music Group. Today, Kid Ink talked to DJ Whoo Kid for his Shade 45 show about his deal with RCA Records.
