Over forty years ago, “Diff’rent Strokes” debuted on NBC and expanded the mind on what family was. Many TV sitcom “firsts” took place, on this series. Sadly, the show’s star, Gary Coleman, lived a troubled life, in real life, and died a young death, in 2010.
“Diff’rent Strokes” definitely helped to advance the American culture, in many ways. The “whatchu talkin bout, Willis” phrase originates from this show. Many grew up watching it, either in real time, or in reruns.
Jimmy Kimmel is back with another ABC special, “Live In Front of a Studio Audience.” This time, he is remaking episodes of “Diff’rent Strokes” and “The Facts of Life.” In this remake, he has Kevin Hart cast in Gary Coleman’s role as ‘Arnold.’
