Kendrick Lamar goes platinum with “To Pimp A Butterfly” #TPAB

Anticipation for Kendrick Lamar to release a new album began right when he released good kid, m.A.A.d. city. The album was a breakout success and went platinum within a year. Led by strong singles, the album did phenomenally well.

Kendrick Lamar enjoyed his run and promoted good kid, m.A.A.d. city the traditional way. This led to Kendrick Lamar landing Jay Z on the remix of “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe.” Once that was over, Kendrick went into an extended hiatus.

During the late stages of summer 2014, Kendrick Lamar returned with new music for a new album. He delivered “i,” which ended up being the official song of the NBA last season. This was followed by the To Pimp A Butterfly album release and it has gone platinum, five months following the album release.
