Kanye West released his ninth studio album, “Jesus Is King” in September as it was a gospel-inspired album. He made it known what he was officially done making secular music after this project. He has also been going around the country performing with his Sunday Service choir. On Christmas Day, the choir even released an album.

Many people also remember West’s 2013 album, “Yeezus” which included the singles “Black Skinhead” and “Bound 2.” According to Genius, the original title was very different from what was finalized with Yeezus. Designer Joe Perez designed the cover for this album along with “Cruel Summer.” It has been revealed now that Yeezus was close to being titled “Thank God For Drugs.”

Thank God For Drugs was a “Pre-Yeezus GIF concept” created on March 2, 2013. Yeezus went on to be released on June 18, 2013. George Condo created the proposed artwork for Thank God For Drugs. This is definitely an odd title and it’s interesting to think what the public reaction would’ve been if this was the final choice instead of Yeezus. This shouldn’t have been the final title either though. It’s extremely disrespectful to Jesus.
