Kanye West will not chart on Billboard with #TheLifeofPablo, but helped #TIDAL double their subscribers, saving the company? #TLOP

Kanye West doubles TIDAL subscribers but won’t chart on Billboard

It’s no secret there were tremendous struggles with TIDAL, the popular streaming service helmed by Jay Z. Initially, it looked like another big business venture Jay Z was involved in. After announcing his ownership, he gave parts to Beyonce, Rihanna, Kanye West, and J. Cole.

Other artists are also part-owners, with Lil Wayne joining months later and T.I. joining last night. Despite this, TIDAL has struggled mightily, but all of this changed a few days ago. A few days ago, Kanye West made his long-awaited album, The Life of Pablo, available only on TIDAL.

Due to his decision to only place The Life of Pablo on TIDAL, Kanye West forfeited his right to chart on Billboard. But, he brought 20 million viewers to TIDAL for the album stream/fashion show. Also, TMZ reports this brought close to $15 million more dollars into TIDAL, as subscribers grew from 1 million to 2.5 million.
