The 2021 VMAs will be kicking off tonight, from the Barclays Center, in Brooklyn. Doja Cat will be hosting this event, as Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B have the most nominations, with nine each. Camila Cabello, Lil Nas X, Normani, Foo Fighters, Chlöe, and Justin Bieber are among the list of confirmed star-studded performers.
According to Page Six, Kanye West is also expected to deliver a surprise performance, as well. Ye’s estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, was also seen in NYC this weekend, in a completely covered, leather black outfit, something which resembles Ye’s style. Kim and her sister, Kourtney, are also expected to attend the VMAs.
“With the Kardashians in town for New York Fashion Week and the Met Gala, we hear [Kim and Kourtney] may be making an appearance as well, especially since Kourtney’s beau, Travis Barker, is performing with good friend Machine Gun Kelly,” said a source close to MTV.
The last time that Kanye was at the VMAs, he caused a commotion, by interrupting Taylor Swift’s Video of the Year speech. This was due to him voicing support for Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” video, which he viewed as one of the greatest music videos of all-time.
Kanye also scored the number one album in the US earlier this month, with “Donda.” It is currently number two, on the Billboard 200 chart, with 141,000 units sold, in its second week.
