Kanye West Reportedly Fired an Engineer, Who Was Working on “Donda” Album, Because Engineer Overslept For an Upcoming Studio Session

Kanye West’s “Donda” is currently the number one album in the US, as this was highly anticipated for over a month. It was also delayed three times, despite Ye having three listening parties for it. It concluded in his hometown of Chicago on August 26, and was finally released on August 29.

Now, more information is surfacing, regarding the creation of Donda. Akademiks shared a text message convo between Ye and an engineer he had at the time. Ye was telling him how he was looking forward to working together, as a studio session was coming up.

This engineer ended up oversleeping, and it cost him a huge opportunity. He even didn’t call Ye back, due to scrambling to find a ride to the studio. Kanye fired him through texts, as he said “Stop texting. Go find God.” This convo was supposedly found, after the engineer’s iCloud texts leaked.

Donda contained 27 tracks in total, with features from The Weeknd, Lil Baby, DaBaby, The Lox, Jay Z, Fivio Foreign, Lil Durk, and more. It debuted 23 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on Tuesday as well, as Ye now has the fifth most Hot 100 charting songs, in history.
