Kanye West has been buzzing on social media over these last few weeks, due to his renewed beef with Drake, and for his latest “Donda” album listening event. The third one took place in his hometown of Chicago, on August 26. To nobody’s surprise though, the album didn’t end up being available on streaming outlets.
One of the biggest surprises of that night, was Kanye’s estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, joining him on stage, next to his recreated south side Chicago childhood home, in a Balenciaga wedding dress. It was at that point, that many assumed that Kanye and Kim would call off their divorce, which was filed in mid-February, after being announced in early January.
TMZ reported on Saturday that Kanye and Kim could potentially call off the divorce soon. This is as they have supposedly been working on their relationship. Now, a new report from Page Six is stating that Kanye is telling his friends in the music industry, that he and Kim are back on as a couple.
Despite Kanye allegedly doing this, the people he knows in the industry supposedly, aren’t believing this claim. A music insider told the outlet that “Kanye has been telling other rappers that he and Kim are back together, but everybody knows that isn’t true.”
This is also supposedly being done by Ye, just to end up beating Drake in album sales. Drake is expected to release his “Certified Lover Boy” album on the same day as Ye, which are both supposedly set for September 3.
“The real story is that Kanye wants to beat Drake in record sales, and he is putting on a big show of performance art to grab all the media attention.”
Kanye and Kim also finally began speaking again this summer. This was done for the benefit of their four children.
“They weren’t talking for months after she filed for divorce, but they began talking again earlier this summer for the sake of their kids. Kim is a nice person – while she and Kanye are not back together – she’s happy to support him in his work and his art, she wants a good relationship with him for the sake of their children.”
Another source flat out believes that Kim and Kanye aren’t reconciling. They supposedly just love the coverage of the media on them.
“They are not getting back together. The one thing they still have in common is love of the press. And of course she will still help him make money because the money goes to their children. It’s mutually beneficial for both of them.”
Kim and Kanye had been married since 2014, and together since 2012. Their marriage reached a very rocky point last summer, when Kanye ranted during his 2020 presidential rally in South Carolina, how he and Kim discussed getting an abortion in 2012. The two also had an argument after that rally, in Kanye’s Wyoming ranch.
