In June, Kanye West was seen on vacation with Russian model, Irina Shayk. This was for his 44th birthday, as they were in the city of Provence. The two ended up being seen getting off a plane together, in New Jersey. Even Ye’s estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, approved of their apparent relationship. This came after Kim filed for divorce in mid-February, over a month after the divorce was reported worldwide.
Now, it looks like nothing serious is coming out of this potential new relationship for Kanye. According to a source close to PEOPLE, this was “never a serious thing that took off.” Another source added that dating simply isn’t a priority for Kanye right now. He and Irina are very much remaining “friendly,” though. The two known each other for over a decade, as Irina appeared in the music video for Kanye’s 2010 smash hit single, “Power.”
“Kanye has been busy working and spending time with his kids. This is his focus. He doesn’t have time to date right now. He finds Irina amazing though. They remain friendly.”
Irina supposedly didn’t want people thinking that she was officially with Kanye, and just wanted to be friends with him. Reports soon surfaced that the two were still dating. In the end though, things just didn’t seem to work out, but the two are still on good terms. Kanye wanted to remain in LA, while Irina was based in NYC.
Kanye is also preparing to host his third “Donda” album listening event, in Chicago, this week, This will go down on August 26 at Soldier Field. The first two listening events were held inside Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, over the past month. This album has since been delayed twice. Many fans hope that this will finally be out on midnight, of August 27
