The sudden stardom of Juicy J has caught the entire rap game by surprise, that is except for his team. Last summer, Juicy J surprised most of the hip hop world when he signed to Wiz Khalifa’s imprint, Taylor Gang. Considered to be a Three Six Mafia member for life, the move confirmed their indefinite end to many.
However, during his recent wave of interviews, Juicy J has made it clear Three Six Mafia is still alive, but the focus is on solo music. Juicy J watched his solo career explode when he released his single, “Bands A Make Her Dance.” Hours after it leaked, Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz added verses to the song, leading Juicy J to make it the official version of the single.
Speaking with Sway Calloway for Shade 45’s “Sway in the Morning,” Juicy J would discuss the success of his new single. In addition to “Bands,” Juicy J would also discuss Gangsta Boo’s departure from Three Six Mafia. The interview was not complete without Juicy J providing his verse of “Stay Fly,” Three Six Mafia’s 2005 hit.
