He receives quite a bit of negative press now, but Lil Wayne helped restore hip hop to one trend that had been forgotten. Lil Wayne assembled Drake, Nicki Minaj, Tyga, and more to form Young Money, which inspired Maybach Music, and others. Now, the birthplace of hip hop, New York City, has many crews rising to the forefront.
Joey Bada$$ is currently one of New York’s biggest rappers out. In addition to his own solo music, Joey Bada$$ also has his Pro Era crew. Aside from being a crew, there are little to no similarities between Pro Era and Young Money. Pro Era is more in tune to what hip hop was when it began to receive national acclaim.
Recently, Joey Bada$$ and Pro Era stopped by Good Fella Radio and they spoke on all that they have going on. Currently, Joey Bada$$ and Pro Era are working on the Beast Coast tour. During the interview, Joey Bada$$ also talked about working with Pete Rock and his role with Ecko.
