Expectations were high for the Philadelphia 76ers, entering the playoffs, but some warned that the Nets may not be an easy out. This afternoon, the Nets have given the Sixers that work. The breakout performance from D’Angelo Russell has put Brooklyn over the top.
With Joel Embiid being cleared to play, Sixers fans felt a little less-worried about tonight’s game. But, his injury is clearly still messing with him, because he’s played terribly. The excuse for Ben Simmons though… there really isn’t one.
Jimmy Butler has carried the team, nearly erasing the Nets’ early 17 point lead by himself. Instead of getting help, he’s had Amir Johnson texting and Joel Embiid laughing about it. The ESPN cameras caught that and the Sixers fans are “uuuuup-settt” (Will Smith voice), going in on them on Twitter.
