Back in the day, Curren$y was signed to Young Money and he was actually the first artist signed to Lil Wayne’s imprint. But, the New Orleans native ended up making the decision to depart the record label and go solo. Curren$y spent some time working with Damon Dash before fully focusing on his Jet Life label.
Despite leaving the YMCMB family, Curren$y maintained a strong relationship with the team. In the years since he left the label, Curren$y has continued to release new music with his former label. Now, Curren$y is sharing studio time with one of the newer members and an affiliate.
Curren$y has held the underground down for a long time, but it looks like he is now looking for some commercial success. He recently shared a studio session with DJ Khaled and French Montana, according to a photo on Instagram. There is no telling what Curren$y has coming up next.
