Back in November, Verzuz kicked off season 2 and they arguably featured their best battle of 2020. This was between Jeezy and Gucci Mane, who had been feuding for 15 years. That all started in 2005 after Gucci sent someone to try to shoot and kill Jeezy. Gucci ended up killing “Pookie Loc” in self-defense. The beef originally started over ownership of their collab hit single, “So Icy.” That went on to appear on Gucci’s 2005 debut studio album, “Trap House.”

Gucci was dissing Pookie during the Verzuz but Jeezy still tried to bury the hatchet at the end of their Verzuz. That appeared to end up being the case as he and Gucci hosted an afterparty event at Compound in downtown Atlanta. Now, Jeezys’ Corporate Thugz Entertainment record label, Kinky B, appeared on the Big Facts Podcast to discuss that night.

Kinky B believes that Verzuz actually hurt Jeezy’s street cred. He cited how there shouldn’t be peace when someone’s friend ended up being killed.

“That man, in the United States of America, any street n***a lost all respect for that man that fucking day,” Kinky said. “He lost all his street credibility that day due to the fact that, I don’t give a fuck, when a n***a lose their life, man, ain’t no peace. They’ll never be peace. Never, ever.”

Many believe this is debatable but other hip-hop fans loved seeing that historic moment between Jeezy and Gucci. It’ll be interesting to see if the two actually make music again for the first time in 15 years.
