Yesterday, Jay Z faced major negative press when Marina Abramovic accused him of reneging on a promise. Back in 2013, Jay Z filmed his unique “Picasso Baby” music video in her art gallery. He did this with the promise to donate to Abramovic’s art gallery.
However, Marina Abramovic claimed Jay Z never sent any proceeds and contact with him became impossible. Accusing Jay Z of using her, the story made the Roc Nation CEO look terrible. But, every story comes with three sides.
Jay Z has responded in a way that only he has, without calling anyone out by name or saying anything too much. His directly indirect response comes with a receipt and a thank you letter for his donation to her institute. After this, there isn’t too much that can be said about what did or did not happen after the art gallery was used.
