Often, Jay Z is credited for his business acumen, as he has gone places no other rapper has been. Teaming up with industry heavyweights have allowed for Jay Z to truly change the game. Making history became habitual for him, so he figured streaming would be no different.
After reportedly contacting Spotify about a merger to no avail, Jay Z ventured out on his own. This led him to Sweeden-based TIDAL, which he purchased for $56 million. Since then, there have been plenty of reported struggles, but the service still has over 1 million subscribers.
Despite making moves to start streaming movies and even bringing on web series, “Money & Violence,” Jay Z is upset. According to reports, he is angry enough to sue over TIDAL’s disappointing start. Fresh off streaming 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne’s concert, last night, he is suing TIDAL’s former owners for duping him.
