Finally, Jay Z and Lil Wayne officially joined forces, which was a big moment in hip hop. The moment became even bigger when Lil Wayne received 10 million streams in one week. Birdman filed a $50 million lawsuit in response to their new deal and their run.
A business deal Jay Z did last year, along with Beyonce, brought new attention to his “On The Run” tour and Magna Carta Holy Grail. They allowed HBO to come in and film a couple of their dates for the “On The Run” tour for a special on the network. While the show didn’t do strong ratings, they are now being nominated for an Emmy for their special.
