Jay-Z Signs Copies Of "Decoded"By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

In the past, Jay-Z has shown the rap world what he can do. Through 1996 until 2003, Jay-Z was the biggest rapper in the game. Roc-A-Fella Records launched the career of Beanie Sigel and Memphis Bleek and Jay-Z also helped light the flame for DMX and Ja Rule. Jay-Z proved to be one of hip hop’s biggest executives and even ran Def Jam.

Many were shocked when Jay-Z decided not to renew his deal with Def Jam. This came after he dealt heavily in getting Young Jeezy, Ne-Yo, Rihanna, Rick Ross, Fabolous, and many others sign to the label. But, it was later revealed Jay-Z only turned Def Jam down because of the formation of Roc Nation with Live Nation.

Roc Nation boasts Rita Ora and J. Cole on the roster of their record label and they manage the likes of Kanye West and Rihanna, among others. Kylie Minogue has spent her career over at Capitol Records. With the exception of Mims appearing on the remix for her “All I Want” single, Kylie did not come off as hip hop material.
