Jamie Foxx and Wanda Sykes will star in a one episode reboot of “The Jeffersons,” playing George and Louise Jefferson

One of the longest-running sitcoms, in history, was “The Jeffersons,” but the long runs of “Two and a Half Men” and “The Big Bang Theory” have eclipsed it. Still, the show ran from 1975 until 1986, making the show a classic.

George Jefferson (Sherman Hemsley) became a fixture in pop culture, as did Florence (Marla Gibbs). Their dynamic has made for tons of laughs, over the years. Of course, George and Weezy aka Louise (Isabel Sanford) made for the iconic couple.

In 2004, Isabel Sanford died, and Sherman Hemsley followed, eight years later, in 2012. The impact of “The Jeffersons,” however, will forever live on. With an upcoming tribute to Norman Lear’s work, there will be tributes to both “All In The Family” and “The Jeffersons,” where Jamie Foxx and Wanda Sykes will step into the roles of George and Louise, in a remake of one of the classic episodes.
