Always considered a force in the entertainment industry, all the way around James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond was alleged to be a force, period. The mogul is facing charges of operating a national drug ring and using the offices of Interscope Records to store his product before moving it. However, he was best-known for managing such artists as Game and his relationship with Wyclef Jean.
Jimmy Henchman and Wyclef are both Haitians and have a bond through their heritage. When Wyclef ran for president of Haiti in 2010, he received major support, including financial, from Jimmy Henchman. The relationship between Jimmy Henchman and Wycelf was used as evidence during the sixth day of Henchman’s trial on May 22. Last March, both men traveled to Haiti to throw a concert for the future Haitian president.
In October 2011, six months later, Jimmy Henchman met with law enforcement in hopes of reaching a cooperative agreement. When he spoke with law enforcement, Jimmy Henchman revealed much of his dirty dealings, admitting most of his money was gained through the drug trade. Among the things purchased with drug money included condos in Brooklyn, renovations of those condos, and cars, including a Bentley he sold to a man named “Shakim” for “clean money.” Jimmy Henchman admitted to using drug money to fund his donations to Wyclef Jean and admitted to selling kilograms of cocaine to his driver, “E.”
Jimmy Henchman admitted to using Interscope Records’ offices for the first two shipments of money and drugs, but said he began using rehearsal space in Los Angeles later. The only reason he did not receive a plea deal was because he was caught in a few lies.
