James Harden signs the largest contract extension ever, $228 million, as Rockets extend him until 2023 + Fans question why he got paid so much after he choked in Game 6

One thing is always for sure about James Harden, that man can score some points. Harden made his name out there in Oklahoma City, where he, Kevin Durant, and Russell Westbrook went to the 2012 Finals. Too bad OKC couldn’t keep that team together.

The Thunder have regrouped, trading for Paul George, but Harden has been a Houston Rocket since 2012. His run has been the franchise’s most-successful one, since Hakeem Olajuwon played for them. In 2015, he got the Rockets to the Conference Finals.

Already, Houston traded for Chris Paul, so the monkey is on their back to fix their second round jinx, as they lost to San Antonio, this past postseason. In the closeout Game 6, where Kawhi Leonard didn’t even play, James Harden only put 10 points up and now the Rockets have signed him to a $228 million, six year, deal. Twitter is asking why Houston even did that.
