Easily forgotten, but Ja Rule was the top rapper in the game for a while and it looked like his run would never end. The same things that helped him get in the game were the same things 50 Cent used against him. It was mainly his ties to Jay Z and DMX that 50 used to discredit him.

Ja Rule was the main artist on Murder Inc. Records, Irv Gotti’s label with Def Jam. During the middle of their beef with 50 Cent, the FBI raided Murder Inc.’s offices. They were accused of being involved in organized crime.

After all of this was over, Ja Rule dropped R.U.L.E. and took the streets back over with “New York,” featuring Fat Joe and Jadakiss. He went over to the UK and talked to Tim Westwood, during that period of time. During the interview, Ja Rule spoke on the FBI raid, 50 Cent, and his return to prominence in the rap game.
