In the late 1990s, Ja Rule rose to fame, soon taking over the game. The turn of the century/millennium saw Ja Rule become the biggest, most-consistent rapper in the game. Unfortunately, Ja Rule faced many tough situations that left his career and reputation in shambles.

Ja Rule talked to Hip Hop Vibe about this when he released Unruly, a book chronicling his life. This book shows Ja Rule’s character, someone who doesn’t feed into anything negative. While most would be angry at what happened to him, Ja Rule feels blessed to have been there, period.

CNBC is doing a documentary called White Collar Criminals: Life on the Inside, detailing the corporate leaders who spent time in prison. There is a feature on Dennis Kozlowski in this documentary. Speaking on him is Ja Rule and his history is briefly mentioned in this segment.
