The iHeart Radio Music Awards took place tonight, as the biggest names in the music industry were honored. This includes J. Cole, who had an amazing 2021.

Cole just took home the award for Hip-Hop Album of the Year. This was for his sixth studio album, “The Off-Season.” This became the Fayeteville rapper’s sixth consecutive number one. as every album of his career has debuted at this position. On this project, Cole continued to display his impressive and consistent lyricism, as he released another dominant album.

The Off-Season contained 12 tracks, with appearances from Bas, 6LACK, Lil Baby, Morray and more. “My Life,” featuring 21 & Morray has since arguably become the most popular record from this project. It’s currently certified platinum in the US. Overall, The Off-Season was regarded as one of the best albums in hip-hop, snd in the industry overall, in 2021.

The release of The Off-Season was certainly a long wait, as it had been over four years, since Cole put out an album. The previous project was “KOD,” in April 2018. At this point, the wait for The Off-Season was well worth it.
