J. Cole’s “The Off-Season” Album Sets Spotify Record For Single-Day Streams For an Album in 2021

Last week, J. Cole finally released his sixth studio album, “The Off-Season.” This project contained 12 tracks as it was led by the 2020 single, “The Climb Back,” as well as the “Interlude” single that was released a week before the album. The Off-Season also became Cole’s first solo album since 2018’s “KOD.”

The Off-Season also contained huge features from Lil Baby, 21 Savage, 6LACK, fellow Fayeteville rapper, Morray, and more. The album is expected to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week with over 300,000 units sold. Now, it has already reached an impressive milestone.

The Off-Season has reportedly broken the Spotify record for streams for an album in a single day. It reached over 62 million. If this project debuts with over 300,000 units, it’d be the biggest debut for an album in 2021 as well.

Cole continues to show why he’s one of the all-time greats and the numbers speak for themselves here. Fans should also look out for a possible deluxe edition of The Off-Season in 2021 as well. The anticipation is also there for when he will possibly release his “The Fall-Off” project.
