J. Cole is on fire right now as last week, he released his “Interlude” single,” which is on his upcoming “The Off-Season” album. That project is set to be released this Friday, May 14. Now, Cole is creating even bigger news and this is for his longtime hoop dreams.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Cole will be playing in the Basketball Africa League. He is signing with Rwanda’s Patriots B.B.C. Cole’s first game will take place this Sunday, in Nigeria. He will be playing 3-6 games in total for the Patriots.
Last summer, it was also stated by Master P that Cole was training to try out for the NBA. This is after he and Cole collaborated for a PUMA basketball commercial together where Cole was in the gym getting shots up. The NBA’s Detroit Pistons actually offered Cole a tryout on Twitter but it’s unclear if he ended up accepting that offer.
While Cole is in Africa this weekend, he could be on his way to having the number one album in the US as well. The Off-Season is first album since 2018’s “KOD.” Every album he’s released in his career since 2020 has hit number one on the Billboard 200 chart and that trend looks like it’s on its way to continuing. Cole also put out his “Applying Pressure: The Off-Season Documentary” today as well in preparation for the album’s release.
