J. Cole Returns With First Solo Album Since 2018 With “The Off-Season,” Fans Celebrate Cole Possibly Earning Sixth Straight Number One Album and Call it The “Album Of The Year”

J. Cole is officially back with his first solo album since 2018’s “KOD” album. This is his “The Off-Season” album, which Cole said last week would be available on May 14. He then went on to put out his new “Interlude” single to prepare for this album’s release. Now, The Off-Season is finally here and making a lot of noise in the hip-hop world on social media.

“The Off-Season” is currently the talk of social media as fans are already giving it its praises. It’s led by Cole’s 2020 singles “The Climb Back” and “Lion King On Ice,” both both garnered positive feedback last summer. Many are now even labeling The Off-Season as the album of the year and cite how this album is an example of why Cole is still one of the best artists in the game.

Many expected no features on The Off-Season as usual with Cole’s previous albums but in the “95 South” intro, Cam’Ron and Lil Jon spoke on there and provided a lot of energy and set the tone for the album as a whole. Another Based on the anticipation and love that The Off-Season is getting right now, it could very well be on its way to number one on the Billboard 200 chart this week. This would be Cole’s sixth straight number one album as every album he’s released in his career debuted at this top spot.

More projects appear to be on the way for Cole in 2021 as well. In late December, he posted an outline of projects on the way and after The Off-Season, “It’s A Boy” and his highly-anticipated “The Fall-Off” album would arrive.
