J. Cole Officially Secures Sixth Straight Number One Album With “The Off-Season;” Becomes First Rapper To Have Six Straight Solo Albums Go Number One

Over a week ago, J. Cole made a dominant return with his sixth studio album, “The Off-Season.” This project was led by previously released tracks such as “The Climb Back” and “Interlude.” The Off-Season is also Cole’s first solo album since 2018’s “KOD.”

The hype was real for The Off-Season and for many viewers, it exceeded expectations. It was projected to become the number one album in the US and now, that is official. According to Chart Data, The Off-Season clinched this top spot on the Billboard 200 chart with 282,000 units in its first week. 37,000 were in pure sales and the album accumulated 325.05 million on-demand streams. This is the biggest streaming debut for album album released in 2021.

With The Off-Season reaching this position, this marks Cole’s sixth consecutive number one album. Every sol album released in his career as debuted at number one as well, making him the first rapper to do so. This project contained 12 tracks with appearances from Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Morray, Bas, and 6LACK.

For the second spot on the Billboard 200, Nicki Minaj’s “Beam Me Up Scotty” was there with 80,000 streams. The third spot went to Moneybagg Yo’s “A Gangsta’s Pain.”

Cole is winning big right now as he is also currently playing in the Basketball Africa League. He plays for the Rwanda Patriots, who he’s played two games for. He is expected to play six games for this club.
