At the end of 2020, J. Cole had an Instagram post which revealed a timeline of projects that he wants to put out before his “The Fall-Off” album. The upcoming one is “The Off-Season.” Fans of the North Carolina legend wondered when this would finally end up being released and now, a date has been finalized.
Cole took to Instagram this afternoon to reveal that “The Off-Season” will be available on May 14. No tracklist has been provided yet but that may change in the days leading up to the album’s release. As for which songs could appear here, look for his “Snow In Tha Bluff” and “Lion King On Ice,” and “The Climb Back.”
“My new album The Off-Season available 5/14,” announced Cole on his Instagram feed. “Just know this was years in the making.”
Cole’s last project released was his Dreamville label’s “Revenge Of The Dreamers III” album. That album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, went platinum and contained star-studded appearances from DaBaby, Kendrick Lamar, and more. Cole’s last solo album was “KOD,” back in April 2018. That project also debuted at No. 1 and is at platinum status in the US.
As for “The Fall-Off,” this could arrive sometime in 2021 as well. Fans were waiting for that project las summer and could finally see a release date near the end of the year after what is expecting to be a dominant run by the upcoming “The Off-Season” album.
