Last week, R. Kelly had a scare at the prison he’s incarcerated at in Chicago. A man was in Kelly’s cell and kicked him in the head repeatedly before finally being held back. This facility is the Metropolitan Correctional Center.

The reason why the man did this is reportedly because of the facility being on lock down multiple times due to pro-Kelly protests outside. According to Page Six, this inmate wanted to stab Kelly with a pen as well. As a result, Kelly’s attorney, Steven Greenberg, has also filed a motion to get him released on bail.

As far as the pen goes, others were able to grab the item from the inmate before attempting to stab Kelly.   He also supposedly has a face tattoo that reads “F*ck the feds.”

“This is an inmate that never should have been anywhere near Mr. Kelly, an individual who is charged with the most violent of crimes, and one who plainly has no respect for the rules, he has the phrase ‘Fu** The Feds’ tattooed on his face.”

The incident resulted in Kelly being placed into solitary confinement for his safety. As of now, it’s unknown if he’s still remaining there. Kelly has trials coming up in Chicago and Brooklyn for child sex crimes and racketeering.
