Earlier this year, Iggy Azalea rose to fame, mentioned as a new artist signed to Interscope Records. Despite being signed to Interscope, Iggy Azaela was working closely with T.I. Looking for a new business opportunity, T.I. reached out to Interscope about being the executive producer of her debut album.

Months later, Iggy Azalea was said to be signed with Grand Hustle Records. T.I. began promoting Iggy Azalea as a Grand Hustle artist. With Interscope Records no longer being mentioned, many wondered what happened with Iggy Azalea and her label deal. When T.I. appeared on MTV’s “Hip Hop POV” and he mentioned Iggy being a “free agent.”

Iggy Azalea recently spoke to XXL about her deal with Interscope Records. The young femcee revealed she is managed by Interscope, but signed to Grand Hustle. When T.I. got in on her deal, her Interscope deal had to be restructured, as T.I.’s Grand Hustle is under Atlantic Records, a direct competitor of Interscope Records. With no joint venture deal in place, Iggy Azalea’s deal was restructured. Ironically, during the early days of Interscope Records, they were distributed by Atlantic Records.

Iggy Azalea is currently putting the finishing touches on her EP, Glory.
