Fans have been hoping someone would recreate the 1990s. Few will come out and say it, but many feel the decade was the best ever. It was during the 1990s that Ice Cube proved he did not need NWA. Initially viewed as a menace to society, Ice Cube displayed acting chops no one knew he had, completely reinventing himself.

Friday, which starred Ice Cube, John Witherspoon, Anna Maria Horsford, Regina King, Chris Tucker, Bernie Mac, and many other superstars, was a box office hit. In the eyes of most, Friday is a classic film. In 2000, Ice Cube released Next Friday, with replacements of most of the cast.

All in all, the Friday series has left fans wanting more. Ice Cube promised the next Friday film would have Chris Tucker and Mike Epps. Chris Tucker has gone back and forth about this and the film has even been put on hold. Ice Cube opened up on this during his interview with 2DopeBoyz and The Well Versed, saying the film will follow his next album.
