Eight years ago, Hurricane Chris contributed to the Baton Rouge explosion with his single, “A Bay Bay.” This single, along with “Hand Clap,” made Hurricane Chris a household name. Within a year, he was all but forgotten, but he did not go away easily.
In 2009, Hurricane Chris successfully delivered a second album and scored another hit, “Halle Berry.” Hurricane Chris enjoyed the top for the final time, that time. Since then, Hurricane Chris really did see his name disappear from the mainstream.
But, if anyone knows anything about how to make hits, Hurricane Chris is indeed that guy. In 2008, Lil Wayne gave Hurricane Chris a shout out on “Got Money,” one of his many hits that summer. Both rappers are Louisiana natives and now Hurricane Chris has him in the studio and it looks like they are working on another hit single.
