Last year, Hit-Boy had a breakout year from the stance of a producer. He provided the sounds for some of the biggest hits of the year. During his downtime, Hit-Boy solidified himself as an emcee to look out for too. Hit-Boy’s success came at the right time, as Los Angeles’ hip hop scene was in the midst of a takeover.
A month ago, Hit-Boy announced he was leaving G.O.O.D. Music. This split was amicable, as Hit-Boy only left the label to focus on his HS87 label, which includes such names as K. Roosevelt. With all of this going on, Hit-Boy has continued to provide production, working with Drake.
Recently, Hit-Boy stopped by Shade 45 to talk to Sway Calloway on “Sway in the Morning.” In this interview, the “working with Drake” topic was a more dominant topic during their discussion. Hit-Boy talked about his work with Drake and all else that he has going on.
