All the hype, for all the months, came down to tonight’s performances with Jennifer Lopez and Shakira. These ladies were brought in to perform their classic hits. In the case of Shakira, that meant “Hips Don’t Lie,” for sure.
Shakira definitely has had a huge impact on the entire music industry and culture. Her career spans over four decades and she’s continuing to dominate. Tonight, her career was reflected upon, in a series of performances.
However, when it came to “Hips Don’t Lie,” Twitter did notice Shakira was slipping. With the lyrics, she clearly forgot, screaming “help me out,” and the fans did. While Twitter still loved the performance and they acknowledged that “hips don’t lie,” but they said that lips and mouths do, clowning her and J-Lo for their lip-syncing.
