Volkan MillionBy DJ Junior
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Artists to Know is coming back full-time, but sometimes other matters are more pressing. Getting back into the groove with this thing here, there is a German artist by the name of Volkan Million making moves. At only nineteen years old, Volkan Million has worked with Soulja Boy and is a part of Kidd Kidd’s Ridagang.

Volkan Million is just beginning to make his impact on the American market, but he is one of the biggest artists in Germany. His momentum is picking up at the right time, as there is a strong wave of music coming out. The timing really could not be better for his emergence, as Volkan Million can help introduce a new market.

Hip Hop Vibe had the chance to talk to Volkan Million and he spoke on his current status, that of an international artist trying to break into the United States market. He has already had a bit of success, working with and touring with Soulja Boy. In his interview, Volkan Million spoke on this and much more.

Read the entire interview below:

What do you find to be the hardest part about being from Germany, but making American music? I think the hardest part about being from Germany is working on songs with different artists from the States, because I prefer working in the studio together with the artists I’m doing songs with. If I’d live in the States, I would easily fly to another city every two days to shoot videos or finish songs. But, a flight from Germany to New York takes around thirteen hours. Another bad thing is that people want to book me, but can’t because the price for the flight is too high for them. I’m definitely going to move out of Germany with my next recording deal.

As you already know, the US is a big nation, what is it about the South that attracts you? The fact that it’s the home of hip hop attracts me the most. There are so many dope music and fashion artists I would love to work with. I think it’s pretty dope over there. The people over here are like robots, everything they do is working in the office and sleeping. They got no life because that’s the way this country is working. I would love to live in Miami or New Jersey .

How did you and Soulja Boy end up working together? I was a big fan of his crew SODMG when I was younger and saw on Twitter that they’re coming to Germany for a tour. I hit up one of his artists, named M2thaK, and told him I want to hangout with the whole crew and he was cool with that.

Can you tell us your favorite experiences touring with him? It was amazing. The fact that you’re chilling with the people you was looking up to when you was younger is crazy!

What led to you and Kidd Kidd linking up? I fucked with his music way before he was signed and all that. After he signed his deal with 50 Cent, me and him had had a long conversation and in the end, I joined his crew, Ridagang. The fact that he was the only one who fucked with me before I had a deal was crazy. Ridagang is more than a crew, that shit is the definition of loyalty .

How would you best explain the chemistry you and him have when it comes to the music? We got the same taste, but he got way more experience than me, I mean he’s a star already. I’m still just an up-and-coming artist, but I’m on the way to the top! Give me one or two more years. I’m only nineteen years old, so I got enough time.

Will you be appearing on Kidd Kidd’s upcoming mixtape? I don’t think so. But let’s see, maybe you gonna see my name on the tracklist (laughs). Get ready for Street Fame! Kidd Kidd killed that shit!

Outside of your work with Kidd Kidd and Soulja Boy, you have your own movement, can you discuss that? Hell yeah! Billionaires Music Group is my own movement! I got artists the US., in Switzerland, and in Canada! It’s a group full of artists who are hungry for this money! Our first BMG sampler will drop this year, too, so get ready!

Who are some of the artists who are a part of your movement? Wordplay Smitty and Ikonic 410, two artists from Maryland who are definitely the future of hip hop! These two guys are lyrical monsters! Check out their mixtapes online. R-Stylez is my artist from Erie, PA! He was one of the first artists who joined BMG and he got dope ass bars! Red Rarri is my Canadian artist! He’s living the good live and he already worked with Tony Yayo and Compton Menace! MusicPicasso is my producer from West Virginia,  he’s becoming better and better and I’m sure he going to be one of the best producers one day! Nico NK is my graphic designer and he worked with Chief Keef already! Young Prizza, RTFM, and Doggy-K are my squad from Switzerland. Their songs will get you high, they are perfect for stoners!
