HHV Exclusive: KRS-One talks influence, giving back, getting into the game, and more

KRS-One HHV

True hip hop heads know KRS-One for being one of the first to ever do it. When it comes to what artists are doing and trying to do now, KRS paved the way and opened those doors. However, KRS-One was never commercially driven, so he kept his movement more grassroots.

Overcoming all kinds of obstacles, KRS-One became very vocal about civil injustices. During times like these, people like KRS-One are important. He discussed many of these matters at the S.O.U.L. Society panel, down in Wilmington (Wilmington, North Carolina).

KRS-One spoke to Brad Simmons of S.O.U.L. Society for Hip Hop Vibe and he discussed his journey. In his interview, he spoke on the influence he’s had on the game for the past three decades plus and how active he is in the community. A conversation with a passionate KRS-One is never open and shut, so several topics were touched on.
