In 2016, the OWN network premiered “Queen Sugar” and the show was an immediate ratings success. Not only did “Queen Sugar” have strong writing, the show has an all-star cast. Network founder, Oprah Winfrey, has even made an appearance on the show.
Heading into season two, “Queen Sugar” had a lot of momentum, and it did not disappoint. The season was action-packed and intense, all season long. As the season came to a close, the season finale was one for the books, leaving a lot of anticipation for season three.
At the Ebony Power 100, Hip-HopVibe.com caught up with a few of the cast members of “Queen Sugar,” with MJ. Speaking with Dawn-Lyen Gardner, Dondre Whitfield, and Bianca Lawson, they spoke on the success of the show, and bringing Oprah to tears. The trio went onto speak on what season three has in store.
