HHV Exclusive: Benny The Butcher Discusses “The Plugs I Met 2” Project, Going on Upcoming “The Burden Of Plugs Tour,” and More [VIDEO]

Over the last two years, Griselda Records rapper, Benny The Butcher, has been one of the most consistent rappers in the game. The Buffalo native really started to take off in the summer of 2019, with the release of his “The Plugs I Met” EP with producer, Harry Fraud. That project showcased Benny’s usual strong lyricism, with appearances from his Black Soprano Family artists, Jadakiss, Pusha T, and more.

In 2020, Benny continued to drop several projects such as “The Respected Sopranos” with BSF and DJ Drama and in the fall, he put out his “The Burden Of Proof” album. That project featured other stars such as Freddie Gibbs, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and more. That went on to debut at number 27 on the Billboard 200 chart.

This past spring, Benny and Harry Fraud put out “The Plugs I Met 2,” which received overwhelmingly positive reviews from fans, as it was led by the “Thanksgiving” single. Additional appearances included 2 Chainz, Fat Joe, the late Chinx, and more. Last month, Benny put out his “Trust The Sopranos” EP with 38 Spesh, too. Benny will also be venturing on his “The Burden Of Plugs Tour” this fall, which kicks off in October.

Last weekend, in Atlanta, HHV caught up with Benny to discuss The Plugs I Met 2, the progress of Griselda Records as a label and dominating in hip-hop over the last year, his upcoming tour, and more. This conversation took place at fellow Griselda artist Armani Caesar’s private birthday event.
