Now, things just got really interesting in the Eastern Conference. With the Pacers giving up Paul George to the Thunder for nothing, the East was looking very weak. There was Cleveland and Boston, then possibly, just possibly, Charlotte, with their Dwight Howard trade.
Some elevated the Hornets’ new core of Kemba Walker and Dwight to the two spot over the Celtics. Then, fans who remembered 2014, felt as if Gordon Hayward could sign with Charlotte again. But, after much speculation, he did the expected thing, and signed with the Celtics.
With this deal in place, the Boston Celtics are really looking like contenders, after critics said they got to the Conference Finals ahead of schedule. Now, everything is right on track for them to go back to the Conference Finals. After making everyone wait all day, Gordon Hayward is signing with the Celtics, and fans are celebrating on Twitter.
