Gunna’s lawyers condemn lyrics being used against him
Young Thug and Gunna are both in custody at the Fulton County Jail, after a major 56-count indictment was handed down, this week. Gunna and Thug were two of 28 individuals, named in this case against their YSL record label/gang. Crimes included were RICO, murder, criminal gang activity, and more. Charges against Thug and Gunna are gang activity, possession with intent to sell drugs, and receiving stolen property.
Thug was taken into custody on Monday, after his Atlanta home was raided. Gunna was finally arrested, on Wednesday. Lyrics were also used to indict Gunna and Thug. This move by law enforcement is something that is wrong, according to a group of Gunna’s attorneys.
“Mr. Sergio Kitchens, known as Gunna, is innocent,” said Gunna’s attorneys to TMZ. The indictment falsely portrays his music as part of a criminal conspiracy. Mr. Kitchens has been an advocate for his community, and it is our privilege to advocate for him.”
Gunna’s legal team also cited times when Gunna gave back to communities in Atlanta. These included recently opening his free grocery and clothing store at his former middle school, as well as giveaways that benefit victims of disasters and food shortages.
