Game pays homage to Left Eye with new tattoo

One of the most-chilling stories in hip hop was the death of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. At the time, TLC was in the midst of a comeback. Left Eye opted to go on vacation, which wound up being her last trip. As has been the case with Tupac Shakur, The Notorious B.I.G., and Big Pun, the rap game honors her annually.

Many have given Game a bad wrap for his frequent name-dropping. Whatever can and will be said, but Game is one of the few artists who acknowledge the history of hip hop. Game is one of the few artists to admit he is a fan of many of the artists he often goes against. While admitting he grew up in Compton listening to Reasonable Doubt, Game often disses Jay-Z.

But, Game pays homage to those who have passed on. Early in his mainstream career, Game jumped head-first into this topic on “Dreams.” In the song, Game mentioned Left Eye, but she is more than a passing topic. After getting Compton tattooed on his stomach, Game went on to get a tattoo of Left Eye and he told his Twitter followers that Aaliyah would be next.
