Towards the end of the Chicago drill era, Lil Herb emerged, and would prove to have staying power. Coming up, alongside Lil Bibby, Herb had much promise. Then, Nicki Minaj did “Chiraq,” featuring him on the record.
Many of the top rappers did their “Chiraq” remixes and then Nicki Minaj performed the song, on Summer Jam. On that big stage, she put Lil Herb on. Soon, he reinvented, becoming G Herbo, and taking over the game.
As it currently stands, G Herbo is one of the biggest rappers in the game. Before that was the case, Nicki Minaj took a chance with him, featuring him on “Chiraq.” With her including this on the Beam Me Up Scotty re-release, Herbo credited Nicki for helping him to become a major star.
