G Herbo Explains How Nicki Minaj Changed His Life With “Chiraq” Collaboration, and Helped Give Him Confidence To Take His Career Higher [VIDEO]

Tonight, G Herbo’s fourth studio album, 25, is set to be released. It’s led by singles such as “Statement” and “Really Like That.” Nineteen tracks are available, with star-studded collaborations from 21 Savage, Gunna, Polo G, and more.

In a new interview with Complex, Herbo also discussed collaborating with Nicki Minaj on her 2014 hit single, “Chiraq.” Herbo was seventeen, at the time, and was just starting to blow up, as an artist. He explained that Nicki changed his life, with that record, and gave him the confidence needed.

At the time in 2014, Herbo was still in the streets, every day, in Chicago. He soon met with Nicki, and they created the “Chicaq” record. G Herbo began making money from concerts, and soon, felt like the man, after the Nicki collaboration.

“Chiraq” was re-released on Nicki’s Beam Me Up Scotty mixtape, in May. That mixtape was rereleased on all streaming outlets as well, as it was initially released in 2009, and was the project that turned Nicki into a star.
